Training Program
It is conducted in accordance with the training standards of EAP and EFTA. Completed training enables the trainees to obtain national and European certificate for psychotherapy. Training program is a four-year course. Acquired knowledge and mastered skills enable therapists to work in various contexts.
Director
Prof Dr Nevena Calovska-Hertzog, MD, PhD, ECP, specialist in neurology and psychiatry, family therapist, supervisor and trainer, Secretary General of EFTA and national Serbian Union of Associations of Psychotherapists, expert and permanent member of the Training Accreditation Committee of EAP.
Trainers and supervisors of AST are all nationally and internationally certified professionals in the field of systemic family therapy.
In the course of training, other nationally and internationally known therapists are invited to hold training seminars and workshops, and these hours are included in the training hours.
Methodology
Basic method is interactive, group work. Training seminars and workshops are usually organized once a month and each year of training consists of eleven workshops.
Trainees
Training program is created to fit various professionals such as psychiatrists, medical doctors, psychologists, social workers, etc. Groups are numbering from 10 to 20 trainees and are functioning as a closed-type group.
Certificates
Upon completion of the second year of training, trainees receive certificate for systemic counselling. Upon completion of the full four year program trainees receive certificate for systemic psychotherapy, which makes them eligible for applying for both national and European certificates for psychotherapy issued by the Serbian Union of Associations of Psychotherapists and European Association for Psychotherapy, respectively.
